Low-cost, next-generation stainless steels, Cromgard C12 and C20-1 provide strength, corrosion and abrasion resistance, durability and low maintenance, as well as good weldability and formability, making them capable of fabrication by conventional techniques. Cromgard C12 and C20-1 have been successfully used by a variety of bus and coach companies in body, chassis and subassembly construction, especially in modern buses that utilize hybrid technology. Due to higher strength over 304SS and conventional aluminum, Cromgard C12 and C20-1 allow for the specification of a thinner gauge and create a lighter-weight vehicle. Cromgard C12 is an excellent choice to replace coated carbon steel or other stainless steels where painting would be a requirement.
If aesthetics are important, Cromgard C20-1 is well suited to replace 304/304L. In addition to supplying our sheet, plate and tubular products, we provide fabricated parts and assemblies to pre-determined specifications and ship them ready to use.
